DOCUMENTARY: Critical Evaluation

I think our groups biggest issue and our primary opponent in the production of our documentary was losing all of the organisations that we were in discussion with. We were relying on these key characters to provide our documentary with the professional information. By losing them, I had to step in as presenter despite originally intending to direct the production. This meant Danny had to step in as director without much prior warning or preparation.
Despite this, Danny excelled as director under these stressful conditions. I personally commend Dannys determination and continued commitment to keep our production progressing despite setbacks with characters and repeated narrative re-focuses. Capitalizing on myself and Victorias roles as researchers to keep the group informed on our new directions, Danny also managed to combat the difficult and less than ideal footage our assistant-camera operator delivered whilst filming by their self on location.
The same crew member also affected the group in their continued lack of motivation when asked to perform most tasks they were set within the group. These roles often ended up falling onto other members of the crew or being completed but very late and usually to a level counteractive for the importance of the task. This led to repeated hold ups with the production, for which I blame for the final products incredible distance from our original plans.
